Potent yet dependable, Saxon Dawn takes inspiration from England’s earliest archetypal hero: the warrior king, Beowulf. Read the origin story.

Our spin on the classic breakfast brew, Saxon Dawn was created from premium black teas sourced from Kericho in Kenya and Assam in India.

We've added sprinkle of safflower petals to add a hint of deep-red devilry to this old English Breakfast tea. Unlike bolder edible flowers, like rose petals or rose extract, safflower petals have a mellow flavour with subtle notes of nut and sweet chocolate. They give a slightly ruby colour to the finished brew.

***

Tasting notes: Full bodied taste with a slightly mellow astringency. Tastes great with or without milk.

Brewing instructions: 2-3g, 3-6mins, 100°, 200ml

Ingredients: Luxury black tea, naturally dried safflower petals

Colour: Reddish-brown.

Excellent morning tea

A truly excellent morning brew. Great for making a cup of builder's tea to get me going.

Bloomin’ Lovely!

I’m really loving this tea! I just wish you’d introduce a more robust, rounded brew to your inventory ‘cos I do like a nice strong cuppa!

The Devil knows what he's doing!

This tea is perfection, I love the depth of it and the familiarity of the tea. I used to hate tea, but this has converted me. I'll be making a new order and getting the big bad boy bags!!

The best tea ever

I used to be a clipper tea girl until the day I tried Saxon Dawn! Now I won’t drink anything else. Never tasted such a wonderfully refreshing, tasty tea in my whole 60 years on this planet, and trust me have I more than a few cups in my time! I even put the used, dried tea leaves for my
house plants and they’re thriving!
