Before Earl Grey there was Old Grey, a wizened druid known to read the future in tea leaves.

Old Grey is an Earl Grey recipe from the before times, combining Sri Lankan Ceylon tea leaves grown at high altitude, a smooth top-grade Keemun tea from China, natural bergamot oil and dried blue cornflowers.

Great with or without milk.

Brewing instructions: 2-3g, 3-5mins, 100°, 200ml

Ingredients: Luxury black tea, cornflower petals, bergamot oil.

Tasting notes: A bold and malty black tea flavour with fragrant floral notes and a hint of citrus. Mild astringency.

Colour: Bright copper.

Delicious.

The tea is delicious, with a more floral note from twinings, but it's beautifully balanced and makes a great cuppa. I've ordered my 4th batch now, and no longer use supermarket tea leaves.
